Edible Bird Nest 燕窝

燕窝是中国传统名贵食品之一，是金丝燕筑以唾液成的巢。

原产印尼、泰国、马来西亚南洋等地。

按燕子筑巢的地方有「屋燕」及「洞燕」两种。屋燕的巢是筑在普通人的房子上，而洞燕的巢是筑在山洞内，两种全是野生。

燕窝中有称为「血燕」的，是因为金丝燕的食物中包含海藻等物使其唾液含杂质，呈红丝而名，并非因为人们误解，燕子未完成鸟巢，忍着不产卵，吐血而形成。
Edible Bird Nest is one of the prestigious and expensive Chinese traditional food. It is actually built by the swiftlet from their own saliva.

Swiftlet's are found in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian countries.

Based on the place the swiftlet build their nest, it's divided into 2 types. One is call "House’s swiftlet", as they built their nest in houses and buildings, and the other one is call "Cave’s Swiftlet" as nest are build in the caves. Both types are wild swiftlet.

"Blood-Nest" are so called because of the diet of the swiftlet which include seaweed and other substances that contribute to impurities in the saliva; not as what people believed to be the swiftlet vomiting blood as it steeled to not lay eggs until it has finished building it's nest.
